Cornwall in pictures…
Design inspiration is everywhere and none more so than in cold and blustery, but beautiful, Cornwall in April!
I spent last weekend in the areas around Padstow, Rock and Watergate Bay and the weather didn’t stop me from having some fun, although I left the surfing to those with thermal wet suits…
Here are some lights I saw and loved (with an appropriate nautical theme) in some of the restaurants we visited. I was particularly impressed with this stunning “fish” chandelier in the entrance of the Rick Stein Seafood Restaurant in Padstow.

Lights I saw and loved in Cornwall – The Rick Stein Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, The St Moritz Hotel and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Restaurant at Watergate Bay
Back at the hotel (St Moritz) the rooms clearly echoed the colours of the beach, the sea and sand, but in a very grown up and quite contemporary way, which was not overly-nautical – perfect!

The room schemes back at the hotel (St Moritz) cleverly echoed the colours of the beach, sea and sand…
On the theme of colours, I have to just add in here my favourite piece of artwork from the Rick Stein Seafood Restaurant.
And finally, if you are ever unsure of which colours to mix together, take inspiration from nature or seafood!
